Restrepiopsis (reh-strep-ee-OP-siss) is also named for being similar to Restrepia due to the stems being enclosed in sheathes.  The flowers are more closely related to Octomeria, however, though they only have 4 pollinia and the petals are considerably smaller than the sepals.  There are about 15 species found in wet forests of Central American and the Andes.
