Additional Information:  Variable, frequent and widely distributed in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at 3,600 feet (1,100 m) to 11,480 feet (3,500 m).  00989 is an intermediate form between R. contorta and R. pandurata.  00221 used to be R. maculata, which is now a synonym.
