Restrepia chameleon   Luer & Escobar

Named for a chameleon, the lizard that changes color.  Chameleon from the Greek, "a creeping lion", referring to the creeping, ferocious beast.

Additional Information:  Locally abundant, but known only from a single, forested, subparamo valley below the Páramo de Jurisdicciones in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia at altitudes of about 8,850 feet (2,700 m).
