Not sure of this. Carl Luer has been moving lots of pleurothallis to separate genera and this species did not follow many of the others of Acianthera.

Additional Information: This clone from the northern slope of Mt. Atilan in Guatemala at about 6,000 feet (1,830 m). Range is from Mexico to Guatemala at altitudes of 3,080 feet to 7,000 feet (940 m to 2,130 m).
