Alaticaulia whiteana  (Luer) Luer

Named in honor of Dr. William E. White of Anniston, Alabama, who submitted the species to the Orchid Identification Center of the American Orchid Society.

Additional Information:  This very distinctive species occurs locally and sometimes abundantly in damp forests in southeastern Ecuador and northern Peru at altitudes of around 4,920 feet (1,500 m) to 7,380 feet (2,250 m).
