Byrsella peristeria  (Rchb.f.) Luer

Named for the orchid Peristeria elata Hook., referring to a similarity in the appearance of the white column flanked by the white petals, "something comparable to the form of a dove".

Additional Information:  Relatively common in the Central and Western Cordillera of Colombia at altitudes of 5,900 feet (1,800 m) to 7,480 feet (2,280 m).
