Masdevallia notosibirica  Maekawa & Hashimoto

Named for the community of Siberia in the department of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where the species was discovered.  From the Greek noto-, "southern", referring to the Bolivian Siberia as opposed to the Asiatic Siberia.

Additional Information:  Apparently endemic in a small area of cloud forest at the southern extreme of the rich, north slope of the Andes that stretches to the southeast from Peru into cold paramo and hot lowlands at around 2,100 feet (650 m).
