Masdevallia Flaming Arrow

Additional Information:  This hybrid takes most of it's form from M. panguiensis and the color from M. Copperwing.  The second clone shown here has a bit more of the purple color from M. panguiensis.  So far of the ones bloomed, this one on the left has more rolling in the lateral sepals than the others.  The stems are wiry, longer than the leaves and somewhat weak for the large flower.  The flowers have been hanging off the side of the plant.  This plant would probably make a good mounted plant to allow the inflorescences to hang down.
