This plant was purchased as Masdevallia (exquisita x auropurpurea). M. auropurpurea is a synonym of Alaticaulia bicolor. In this cross, M. exquisita gave this hybrid a very delicate form while A. bicolor influenced the color. Oddly, there was no "star" in the center that is usually present in crosses using M. exquisita.
