Additional Information:  Found on the lower, mossy branches of trees and also terrestrially in the thick, but loose layers of shaded mossy humus in the high, forested, fog-enshrouded mountains that surround the ancient town of Huasahuasi in central Peru at altitudes ranging from 9,500 feet (2,900 m) to 9,840 feet (3,000 m).

    Cultivation of this species requires a damp, cool, shady place with adequate air movement.
