Byrsella civilis  (Rchb.f. & Warsz.) Luer

From the Latin civilis, "civilian" in allusion to the drab flowers in contrast to the bright red flowers (the color of military jackets) of M. militaris, which was published simultaneously.

Additional Information:  Apparently endemic in northern Peru where it grows terrestrially on semi-arid, grassy, rocky slopes fully exposed to the extremes of heat in the midday tropical sun and chilly nights at altitudes of around 9,020 feet (2,750 m) to 11,480 feet (3,500 m).
