Additional Information:  Found terrestrially and lithophytically on exposed, rocky slopes of the semi-arid, high Andes of northern Peru at altitudes of 8,530 feet (2,600 m) to 13,000 feet (3,950 m).

The clone shown above was originally identified as M. purpurina.
