Masdevallia welischii Luer Named in honor of the late David Alan Welisch of San Francisco, CA who discovered this species.
Subgenus: Masdevallia Section: Masdevallia Subsection: Coccineae
Plant ID: 00039
Clonal Name: 'Ripp-Hoff' Award: AM/AOS of 82 points
Additional Information: Found growing on exposed rocky slopes in a remote mountainous area of Peru from 9,840 feet (3,000 m) to 11,000 feet (3,350 m).
