From the Greek odontoceras, "a tusk," in allusion to the tusk-like tails of the lateral sepals.

Clonal Name: 'Marsh Hollow'

Award: CCM/AOS of 83 points.

 

Additional Information: Locally abundant and apparently endemic in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia at altitudes of 5,900 feet (1,800 m) to 7,210 feet (2,200 m).
