Dryadella aviceps  (Rchb.f.) Luer  

From the Latin aviceps, "a bird head", alluding to the similarity of the flower bud to the head of a bird.

 

Additional Information:  Frequent and widely distributed through Brazil and Paraguay at 650 feet (200 m) to 4,920 feet (1,500 m).

Easily recognized by the thick, green leaves that are relatively broad for the genus.
