Dracontia tuerckheimii  (Schltr.) Luer

Named in honor of Hans von Turckheim who discovered this species.

Additional Information:  Frequent and widely distributed through Central America from Mexico into Panama.  It is also variable, with several distinct populations known to grow in Guatemala where it is most frequent.  Found at altitudes of 3,280 feet (1,000 m) to 8,200 feet (2,500 m).
