Additional Information:  From Costa Rica both terrestrially and epiphytically at altitudes ranging from 4,000 feet (1,200 m) to 4,920 feet (1,500 m).

Plants of the species can commonly be over a meter in height (not counting the long inflorescence) with leaves the size of a dinner plate.
