Colombiana aspergillum  (Luer & Hirtz) Luer

From the Latin aspergillum, "a brush used for sprinkling" in allusion to the brush-like tuft of peduncles at the apex of the leaf.

Additional Information:  Locally abundant in the dense, wet forest in the northwestern Occidente of Ecuador at altitudes of around 2,460 feet (750 m).  Note - this photo on the left is of a young plant with it's first blooming.  It does not yet have the "brush" of peduncles.
