Named in honor of Nora Dunsterville, who with her husband, G.C.K. Dunsterville, contributed extensively to our knowledge of the orchid flora of Venezuela.

Additional Information:  Locally abundant in the Amazonian lowlands of Venezuela and Colombia and most likely adjacent Brazil at altitudes of 650 feet (200 m) to 3,280 feet (1,000 m).
