Acronia penelops  (Luer) Luer

From the Greek penelops, "a kind of duck," in allusion to the appearance of the flowers.

Additional Information:  Endemic in the Paute valley in southeastern Ecuador where it is not uncommon at altitudes of 5,410 feet (1,650 m) to 5,580 feet (1,700 m).
