Additional Information:  Relatively frequent and variable in its wide distribution through the Andes from Venezuela into Bolivia at altitudes ranging from 7,200 feet (2,200 m) to 9,670 feet (2,950 m).  These plants are always in bloom (sequential flowering, one flower at a time per leaf) all year long.
