Additional Information:  Found in Peru, Colombia and Ecuador at altitudes ranging from 5,250 feet (1,600 m) to 9,840 feet (3,000 m).

This plant was formerly P. erymnochila and is the only synonym species with flowers that cascade through the opening of the lobes of the heart-shaped leaf.
