Acinopetala crescenticola  (Lehm. & Kraenzl.) Luer

Named for Crescentia, a genus of trees, and -icola, "dwelling upon", referring to the habitat of the plants originally discovered.

Additional Information:  Rare but locally abundant in lowland, costal forests of western Colombia and Ecuador at altitudes ranging from 500 feet (150 m) to 1,000 feet (300 m).
